This bathroom was an emergency project, as the client’s aging parent required a barrier free bathroom, as quickly as possible. The typical Hamtramck bathroom is about 5-6 feet wide and about 11 feet long. We also had to add a second entrance. All the plumbing had to be reconfigured, and the entire floor waterproof.
To complicate matters, the lowest point in the floor was near the entry door(s), so the area around the shower stall took a little work to become the lowest point in the room. We removed the diagonal sub-floor at the shower area and made our new sub-floor level with the floor joists.
